Linking to outside websites from eTalk
Section:  Others

Is it okay to link to outside the PRESENT website in the eTalk, ie. UHMS.org, if it's clinically relevant?

RE: Linking to outside websites from eTalk

Not only OK, but very good.  We encourage our members to create as many links in and out of PRESENT Podiatry as they wish.  It's no secret that web sites are putting Facebook, Twitter and other social networking links on all their content.  We all want links in and out of our sites, and to have the content shared as much as possible. It's hard to share a book or a newspaper with more than a few people, but anything digital, on a blog site has no friction and gets distributed freely. We have a deal now with Facebook that connects our site to theirs, and automatically moves our latest lectures and eZines to our Facebook Fan Page, which is growing fast. I also selectively move the better eTalk posts or complete threads to the Fan Page, for our Fans to read from their Facebook Home Pages.
