After listening to yet another FDA warning in the news about Codeine use in Pediatric patients, what are alternatives in pain management post procedures/surgeries

How Likely are you to prescribe Codeine following a nail procedure in a Peds Patient?
It is always prescribed regardless of the Procedure

  • I was just reading a news article about this issue. Apparently codeine is either metabolized differently or not at all in children. It does not sound like a wise choice.
