I found out that online there is the oxford acedemic rheumatology publication about capillaroscopy. The problem is the articles posted do not mention how to avoid surface glare from the toenail plate. (Normally when using a dermatoscope to examine toenails contact with some sort of liquid clear gel that does not immediately slide off the toenail plate is needed.)  I believe a black piece of paper might solve this problem regarding non contact highly polarized dermoscopy to avoid compressing vasculature as well as eliminating excess surface glare.

 Any dermoscopy questions?
