Residency Rumble Crowns New Winner at 2019 ResEd Summit Midwest
Grand sponsor 3M generously contributed to a great experience for attendees from 28 podiatric residency programs from 24 states and Canada who met outside of Chicago to participate in the 17th Residency Education Summit.
Chairman Harold Schoenhaus, DPM, Co-Chairmen Matthew Garoufalis, DPM, CWS and Christopher Bromley, DPM, put together a valuable curriculum of lectures on topics from surgery to wound care to biomechanics to Life Skills lectures to help young podiatrists get started in practice. Hands-On Workshops overflowed with attendees and the exhibit and lecture halls were packed with residents along with their program directors and attendings.
St Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio Takes First Place at 17th Residency Rumble Academic Game Show
The 17th Residency Rumble was won this year by the excellent team from St Vincent Charity Medical Center – Cleveland, Ohio, comprised of Michael Canales, DPM - Residency Director, Daniel Bullard, DPM, Kyle Bray, DPM, and Deepali Darji, DPM.
Accommodative Padding and Strapping Lecture and Workshop
Rebecca Moellmer, DPM, past President of the California Podiatric Medical Association and Sydney Yau, DPM from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine returned a group of residents to the roots of podiatry by administering a comprehensive padding and strapping workshop, with supplies generously provided by Chris Case of Pedifix. It’s quite interesting what keen interest there has been at both Summits this year in this quite traditional area of podiatric practice.
Faculty Development Workshop
The Faculty Development Workshop took place led by noted podiatric educators Suhad Hadi, DPM, Marie Williams, DPM, DHL, Javier La Fontaine, DPM, and Jarrod Shapiro, DPM.
