First Metatarsophalangeal Joint Arthrodesis Using an Intraosseous Post and Lag Screw with Immediate Bearing of Weight
There are many different constructs available for 1st MTPJ arthrodesis including the more common lag screw and plate construct which may leave a prominent plate in an area with limited soft tissue envelope. In this study, a novel construct is examined consisting of an intraosseous post and a lag screw which may allow for immediate weight-bearing due to increased stability and compression inherent to the design.
