Return to Sports and Physical Activities After First Metatarsophalangeal Joint Arthrodesis in Young Patients
Hallux limitus is a painful, progressive deformity, eventually leading to hallux rigidus. Quality of life is often impacted, especially in a young, athletic population. Surgical intervention with an arthrodesis is often chosen for these patients. How does this procedure fair in the younger, more active patients? This study aims to answer this question, by assessing sports and physical activities in young patients following first MTP joint arthrodesis and to compare these results with clinical outcomes.
