Managing wounds with moderate to high amounts of exudate can be challenging, even under the best of circumstances. The COVID-19 pandemic has made caring for patients with such wounds all the more difficult, as these patients tend to have comorbidities that make them susceptible to developing serious complications from the coronavirus. For this reason, clinicians are interested in options for their patients’ wound care needs, as patients are less incline to visit their wound care clinician during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is where a Superabsorbent Dressing can help.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand the concerns of excessive exudate in chronic wounds.
  2. Discuss different options of managing your patients’ wound care needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  3. Describe Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP), their advantages and how they can help your patient.
