The dermatoscope is one instrument that will make you a better diagnostician in identifying skin disorders of the lower extremity. Clinical indications for biopsy, as well as the risks and advantages of biopsy techniques will be discussed.

- Discuss the clinical and pathologic correlation of pigmented neoplasms, including nevus and melanoma.
- Understand the optics and use of the dermatoscope in identifying skin disorders of the lower extremity.
- Discuss the dermatoscopic criteria for biopsy of pigmented lesions.
