Onychomycosis, also known as tinea unguium, is a fungal infection of the nail. Signs may include white, yellow, or brown nail discoloration, thickening of the nail, and separation of the nail from the nail bed. Many different types of fungi cause onychomycosis such as dermatophytes, yeasts, or molds. During this Webinar, Dr McClain will discuss the causes, complications, and treatments of onychomycosis.

  • Identify the causative pathogens of onychomycosis
  • Describe the clinical correlation of onychomycosis and differential diagnosis of psoriasis and lichen planus
  • Identify the different fungi that mimic melanoma clinically
  • Describe several modes of treatment including oral, topical, chemical, and laser
